Who uses your information

When you send an enquiry through a customer website, that website owner uses the details to reply. FreeWebsite.org.uk stores the enquiry securely on the owner’s behalf. Website owners are responsible for how they use information after replying or exporting it.

What we collect

Enquiries may contain your name, email address, telephone number and message. We also store proof that you agreed to the owner using those details to reply. Abuse protection stores a one-way derived identifier, never the raw network address in the enquiry record.

Owner accounts contain a name, email address, securely hashed password and security/session records. Passwords cannot be read by FreeWebsite.

Visitor statistics

If enabled, customer websites store daily aggregate page views, approximate visitor counts, device categories and referring domains. We do not store full browsing profiles, raw IP addresses or full user-agent strings.

On the FreeWebsite.org.uk homepage and builder, we count aggregate daily page views and creation steps so we can improve the service. These platform counts contain only a date, event name and total; they contain no visitor identifier, contact detail or browsing profile.

Retention and deletion

Active enquiries are automatically removed after 12 months. Items placed in Deleted or Spam are removed after 30 days. Short-lived visitor deduplication data lasts no more than 48 hours; email-delivery and abuse-protection records last no more than 90 days.

Your choices

Contact the website owner using the details shown on their site to correct or delete an enquiry. For a FreeWebsite account or platform privacy request, email privacy@freewebsite.org.uk. We will need enough information to identify the relevant account or enquiry safely.

Service providers

We use infrastructure providers to host the service and Resend to deliver account and optional enquiry-notification emails. We disclose only what is needed to provide those services.
